Mwala Lubinda

Mwala Lubinda is an applied economist specializing in Agriculture and Natural Resources Economics. He is a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics at the University of the Free State, South Africa. His expertise includes modeling the economics of climate change using macro-micro simulation frameworks and designing climate policies, interventions, and programs. At UNDP, he applies simulation models to identify investment and policy options for advancing SDGs and climate action. He also supervises postgraduate research projects and develops analytical tools to support decision-making. His interests include intragenerational social mobility, fiscal policy, agricultural value chain development, environmental economics, and climate finance. With a strong background in data analytics, he provides policymakers with evidence-based recommendations to enhance sustainability and economic resilience.
