Michael Kennedy

Since 2007, Mike has built his career across greenhouse gas engineering, sustainable finance, and corporate development. He is currently part of the corporate development team at Enwave Energy Corporation in Toronto, Canada—a US$2bn investment-grade company owned by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and IFM Investors. Enwave operates low-carbon energy projects, including district energy and geothermal systems, where Mike focuses on commercializing ground-source heat pump solutions. Previously, he worked at Systemiq, advising Namibia’s government on its green hydrogen strategy and the Hyphen hydrogen project. He also developed investment strategies for resource efficiency at British International Investment. Before his finance career, Mike spent nine years as a greenhouse gas engineer, helping industrial clients measure and reduce carbon footprints. He holds an MBA from London Business School and a degree in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Canada.
